INS Dega upgrades its Naval Airfield Security Systems
Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, officially opened the Naval Airfield Integrated Security System (NAISS) and the Naval Anti-Drone System (NADS) at INS Dega in Visakhapatnam, both of which were created in India. NAISS was designed by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and features advanced AI technology for area security, while NADS, also developed by BEL, is an anti-drone system that can detect, track, and eliminate hostile drones near the airfield. These two innovations exemplify the Indian Navy’s commitment to utilizing innovative solutions and manufacturing aligned with Make-in-India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
