Explanation by: Mr. Dubey
In a Formula-1 racing, dry and wet types of tyres are used for different purposes. There are dry tyres and wet tyres. In general, only dry tyres and wet tyres are used in a race track. Dry tyres, also called slicks tyres, are useful only in dry weather conditions. They are featured by a tread pattern that is devoid of channels. They generally appear in 4 compounds namely supersoft, soft, medium and hard. Unlike dry tyres, wet tyres designed for damp or slightly wet surfaces, as well as uncertain weather conditions. They are characterized by grooves in the tread pattern. Wet tyres are of two types- full wets and intermediates.
